The Mountain View Bruins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They managed a 74-68 win over Timpanogos. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mountain View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Conner Fairbanks out in front who scored 24 points along with six assists and six steals. Another player making a difference was Simeon Suguturaga, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Timpanogos saw an underclassman step up: Jaxen Mccuistion scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Mccuistion is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven LaPray, who scored ten points.
Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Timpanogos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Layton Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 21 games -- so hopefully the Bruins likes a good challenge. As for Timpanogos, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Payson is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
