East Henderson hasn't had much luck against West Henderson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. East Henderson has given up an average of 48.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
East Henderson is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Smoky Mountain on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Eagles took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 54-6. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 192nd).
Meanwhile, West Henderson's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Tuscola 21-7. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
East Henderson better keep an eye on Zane McCraw. He was instrumental in West Henderson's win, rushing for 205 yards and one score, while also picking up 33 receiving yards. McCraw was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. Cooper Lowrance also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.
West Henderson's run defense was locked in: Tuscola could only muster 1.6 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, McCraw stood above the rest. He rushed for 205 yards and one TD, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. West Henderson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.
West Henderson's defense also made the game a nightmare for Jett Bartley., racking up seven sacks. Leading the way was Gabe Gonzalez with four sacks. McCraw got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
West Henderson's record is now 3-1. As for East Henderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
East Henderson was dealt a bruising 56-0 loss at the hands of West Henderson when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
