As a matter of fact, Inglewood put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They blew past Lawndale, posting a 57-9 win. Given the Sentinels' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Cardinals are ranked 312th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Inglewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Semaj Welch, who rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Welch has become a key player for the Sentinels: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Lincoln Jahn was another key player, having thrown for 352 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Mira Costa waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Centaurs with a sharp 37-14 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won three games by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Liam Meeker and Nicholas Hoang. Meeker had a great game and threw for 207 yards and a pair of TDs. Meanwhile, Hoang was balling out in the loss, throwing for 259 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 37 yards and one score.
One reason for the win was Mira Costa's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Culver City's QB won't forget Magnus Johnson anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Luke Meeker got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Inglewood's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Mira Costa, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Everything went Inglewood's way against Mira Costa in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Inglewood made off with a 27-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sentinels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
