The Thunderbird Titans waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Greenway 57-33. Thunderbird has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.
Thunderbird had a senior duo take command as Paris Strozier jr scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals and Ryan Calcaterra scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Calcaterra has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Will Clark was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Thunderbird's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Greenway, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.
Thunderbird will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cactus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matchups -- so hopefully the Titans like a good challenge. Greenway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
