III Southern recap Oct. 23, 2012
Jacob Gleason and Robert List provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Needles. The connection was good for 623 yards, the longest such play in III Southern this season.
Meadows's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gleason threw for 322 and three touchdowns and List had 149 yards receiving. On the ground Bryson Bickart chipped in 72 yards. Chase Marrs helped Meadows' passing attack out by catching four balls for 83 yards.
Calvary Chapel Christian's Riley Clark and Chris Basilio have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Clark has thrown for 1193 yards this season, while Basilio, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 29 catches for 461 yards. Mountain View Christian's Matthew Larson leads the league in rushing yards with 1087.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Agassi Prep takes on Lincoln County. Agassi Prep is currently in sixth, while the Lynx are in second.
Deumaine Reeder's team led III Southern in scoring this week after putting up 79 points on Lake Mead Academy.
