Basketball Game Preview: Berean Baptist Academy Bulldogs vs. Freedom Christian Academy Patriots

The Berean Baptist Academy Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Berean Baptist Academy will bounce into Friday's match after beating Northwood Temple Academy, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Berean Baptist Academy blew past Northwood Temple Academy 81-56 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Justin Caldwell, who posted 45 points. The game was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Sanders, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Freedom Christian Academy had to suffer through a 101-70 loss at the hands of Trinity Christian. The Patriots have struggled against the Crusaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Berean Baptist Academy will have to contain Karsten Swinney as he made an impact in Freedom Christian Academy's last game. He had 22 points. Swinney has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce West, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Berean Baptist Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.6 points. As for Freedom Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Berean Baptist Academy and Freedom Christian Academy are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Berean Baptist Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 68.2 points per game. However, it's not like Freedom Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 77.8 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Berean Baptist Academy won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February, slipping by Freedom Christian Academy 46-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Berean Baptist Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
