The Cristo Rey Trailblazers pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 68-64 to Tenor, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Cristo Rey was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tenor apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Tenor was led to victory by Quintyn Robinson and Shane Emanuel. Robinson scored 26 points, while Emanuel scored 26 points. The match was Emanuel's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kyrell Davis, who scored six points.
This is the second loss in a row for Cristo Rey and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Tenor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Cristo Rey will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on University School of Milwaukee at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Tenor, they will head out on the road to face off against Salam at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Salam has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 554 points over their last seven games.
