Baseball Recap: Eau Gallie Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Eau Gallie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past the St. Mary's Lancers 4-3.

Eau Gallie got a great performance from Chase McBrearty as he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). McBrearty has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eau Gallie's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brock Lustic, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Eau Gallie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Eau Gallie has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Melbourne on the 11th. As for St. Mary's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-4 victory against Merritt Island Christian on the 11th.
