Petal waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Meridian Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Petal's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Meridian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Petal beat the Wildcats by a score of 20-1 later that day.
