The Browne Bruins and the North Mustangs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Browne suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Alhambra by a score of 42-39. Browne has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Desmyn Beavers-smith, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Adam Chaffin, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Browne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but North had to settle for a 56-53 defeat against Camelback on Thursday.
Browne's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for North, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Browne might still be hurting after the 71-47 loss they got from North in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Browne, Marcel Calvin (who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
