Haxtun and Wiggins are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Haxtun saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Akron. The Fightin' Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Haxtun might have lost, but man, Bobbi Starkebaum was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Starkebaum is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Anderson, who posted three points and seven assists.
Even though they lost, Haxtun smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 26 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Wiggins beat Prairie 38-29 last Saturday.
Haxtun better keep an eye on Kennedy Kerr. She was instrumental in Wiggins' win, going 5 of 12 on her way to 17 points. Kerr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tenleigh Lorenzini, who posted six points.
Haxtun's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Wiggins, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Haxtun has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Wiggins struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Haxtun ended up a good deal behind Wiggins in their previous meeting two weeks ago, losing 43-29. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kerr, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. Now that Haxtun knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
