The Asbury Rams will take on the Valley Head Tigers in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Asbury turned things around against Crossville on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Lions.
Kathyrn Garrett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 14 hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Abigail Webber was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Sophia Turner also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Asbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Valley Head's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Guntersville on Thursday. The Tigers came out on top against Gaylesville by a score of 10-7. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.
Valley Head let Lexi Coffman and Adleigh Lockett run wild. Coffman went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Lockett got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Raegan Key, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Asbury's record now sits at 4-23. As for Valley Head, their record is now 13-18.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Asbury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Valley Head struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Asbury might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Valley Head in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
