The St. Francis Knights are ranked highly in their home state, and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the IMG Academy Ascenders. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with St. Francis falling 62-45.
St. Francis' loss came despite strong showings from Sa'Mya Wyatt and Camryn Golston. Wyatt scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Golston scored ten points. That was a full 40% of St. Francis' points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for IMG Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will take on Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mt. Bethel Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday. As for IMG Academy, they will be playing at home against Southeastern Prep Academy - Regional - Aces at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
