If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Dracut. They will challenge Lawrence on the road at Lawrence High School at 7:00 PM on Friday. Dracut will be hoping to build upon the 27-14 win they picked up against Lawrence the last time they played.
Dracut had to kick off their season on the road last Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Westford Academy as they made off with a 34-7 victory. With Dracut ahead 27-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Lawrence had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They suffered a grim 6-35 defeat to Tewksbury Memorial. Lawrence were down by 0-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Dracut's win lifted them to 1-0 while Lawrence's loss dropped them down to 0-1. In their win, Dracut relied heavily on senior Devin Lambert, who passed for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for Lawrence will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
