Tellico Plains is 8-2 against Copper Basin since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bears will take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Tellico Plains turned things around against McMinn Central on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Chargers 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since April 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Copper Basin). Everything went their way against McMinn Central on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-9 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
The team relied heavily on Claire Ledford, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hyatt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Copper Basin's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tellico Plains, their record now sits at 3-8.
Copper Basin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Tellico Plains has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Copper Basin, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will Tellico Plains keep running through batters, or will the Cougars buck the trend?
Tellico Plains beat Copper Basin 8-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
