Mundy's Mill was led to victory by Orlando Favors and Dajuan Riddle. Favors scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists, while Riddle scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Riddle has scored all season. Aaron Lyles was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
When it comes to explaining why Lovejoy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Demarco Davis. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Tj Boyd, who scored 14 points.
Mundy's Mill pushed their record up to 9-6 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Lovejoy, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Mundy's Mill will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jonesboro at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Jonesboro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mundy's Mill in Georgia (Jonesboro is ranked 96th, while Mundy's Mill is ranked 228th). As for Lovejoy, they will take on South Cobb at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for South Cobb and three for Lovejoy.
