Wharton came out on top in a nail-biter against Armwood and snuck past 35-32. For Wharton, this counts as revenge for the 77-23 defeat Armwood walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Wharton found their leader in underclassman Kaytee Tyler, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Jayla Grady was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
Wharton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Armwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Wharton will head out on the road to face off against Wesley Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wesley Chapel will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Armwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Freedom at 8:00 p.m. Freedom comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
