Everything went their way against the Wes-Del Warriors on Tuesday as the Blackford Bruins made off with a 78-56 victory. Blackford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gage Baker out in front who went 7-for-13 en route to 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Baker now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Jacob Leas was another key player, going 8-for-12 to rack up 22 points.
Wes-Del's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Julian Carpenter, who went 11-for-22 on his way to 28 points and five boards, and Josiah Love, who posted 23 points and five rebounds. Carpenter continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Flynn, who scored five points.
Blackford is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Wes-Del, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11.
