The Boiling Springs Bubblers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They snuck past Trinity with a 79-74 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Boiling Springs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Trinity is ranked 100th).
Boiling Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Yenser, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yenser has scored all season. Brayden Richie was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Despite the loss, Trinity still got an impressive performance from Owen Schlager, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Schlager hasn't dropped below 15points for 13 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Steele, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Boiling Springs and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Trinity, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boiling Springs will challenge Middletown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Middletown is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Trinity will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Susquehanna Township at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
