Basketball Recap: Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton Comes Up Short

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton lost against Webber back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton received a blow as they fell 59-41 to the Webber Trojans. Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton was down 51-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton lost, don't look at Ashlyn Stayton. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 boards. That's the most rebounds Stayton has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Martin, who posted eight points and five boards.

Webber got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Edyn Knight out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. Knight has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe King, who earned 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton dropped their record down to 6-17 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Webber, their record is now 14-10.

Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton has already played their next matchup, a 46-40 loss against Shawnee on the 5th. As for Webber, they will head out to challenge Sandoval at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
