Meadowbrook's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Monroe Central by a score of 3-0.
McKendall Boyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sommer Ginn was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Ridgewood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past West Muskingum 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Generals have posted since April 2nd.
Like Meadowbrook, Ridgewood also got a great game from a two-way player: Jayden Jaras. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Jaras was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brittleigh Bates, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Meadowbrook's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Ridgewood, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Meadowbrook hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ridgewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
