Whitewater hasn't had much luck against Jefferson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Whippets will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Whitewater has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Whitewater is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 9th on Friday. They came up short against Turner, falling 11-2.
Whitewater saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Wegner, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, while Jefferson put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for East Troy. The Eagles blew past the Trojans 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Natalie Weber made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrina Schroeder, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Milbrath, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Whitewater, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Whitewater might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Jefferson when the teams last played back in April. Will the Whippets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
