Brock Galer went supernova, rushing for 154 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Julian Defoe, who gained 54 total yards and two touchdowns.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Lincoln, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Dylan Knell, who ran a punt back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a kickoff return touchdown from him.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lincoln's defensive line and their three sacks. Diego Cuevas was especially locked on to Rio Linda's QB and sacked him twice.
Despite the defeat, Rio Linda saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Louis Means rushed for 155 yards and three scores. Monty Hale was in the mix as well, providing the Knights with two TDs.
Coming up, Lincoln will challenge Woodland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Rio Linda, they will face off against Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
