The New Palestine Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Southport on the road to the tune of 60-22. That 60-22 margin sets a new team best for New Palestine this season.
Allie Blum was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Beranek, who scored nine points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southport struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as New Palestine racked up 12 assists.
New Palestine's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Southport, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
New Palestine will finish 2023 at home by hosting Franklin County at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Southport will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
