The Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 57-30 win over Liberty Christian Academy on the road. With Christ the Cornerstone Academy ahead 37-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryan Bunnells, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Andrew (AJ) Barrett, who scored 11 points.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christ the Cornerstone Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cornerstone Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Cornerstone Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Mintz Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mintz Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Liberty Christian Academy in North Carolina (Mintz Christian Academy is ranked 176th, while Liberty Christian Academy is ranked 642nd).
