The Mineola Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Winnsboro Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Mineola took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 55-13 victory over Bonham. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Mineola's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braydon Alley led the charge by rushing for 233 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 215 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. Alley's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Another player making a difference was Colton McMahon, who gained 268 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Winnsboro put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victor by a 52-28 margin over Pottsboro. Fans of Winnsboro have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Their wins bumped Mineola to 3-4 and Winnsboro to 7-0.
Mineola couldn't quite finish off Winnsboro in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 and fell 39-36. Will Mineola have more luck at home instead of on the road?
