It was a good run, but Memorial Lutheran unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were dealt a 83-49 loss at the hands of Brazosport Christian. Memorial Lutheran lost against Brazosport Christian in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 79-56 score last time.
Brazosport Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Burris out in front who scored 16 points. Burris also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Coburn, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Memorial Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Brazosport Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
Memorial Lutheran will take on Living Stones Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brazosport Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bay Area Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th.
