The Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Heritage Preparatory Rams on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 64-62. Notre Dame Academy's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Notre Dame Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Faustina Barcena, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 23 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Barcena scored 15 or more points. Amelia LoCicero-Padial was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Notre Dame Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8. As for Heritage Preparatory, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
Notre Dame Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heritage Preparatory also has no future games currently scheduled.
