Crosspoint Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rivers of Life Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 14 consecutive losses for Crosspoint Christian and four for Rivers of Life Christian.
Two weeks ago, Crosspoint Christian came up short against Varsity Opponent and fell 35-22.
Despite the defeat, Crosspoint Christian saw an underclassman step up: Ella Cobb dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. That was a full 50% of Crosspoint Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Rivers of Life Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 30-26 to Providence Classical Christian Academy.
Despite the loss, Rivers of Life Christian saw an underclassman step up: Hailey Henrichs dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Thompson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Crosspoint Christian dropped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Rivers of Life Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Crosspoint Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rivers of Life Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Crosspoint Christian was dealt a bruising 51-21 loss at the hands of Rivers of Life Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023.
