Softball Recap: Venus Wins Going Away Against Alvarado

Venus never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Alvarado on Friday. They blew past the Indians 14-6. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Venus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Alvarado, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.

Looking ahead, Venus will welcome Life Waxahachie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Alvarado, they will square off against Kennedale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.06 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
