Corpus Christi Moody didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Romeo Castillo and Rigoberto Hernandez. Corpus Christi Moody got some further help from Robert Garcia: he made 16 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carroll, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Ray with a sharp 42-20 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Texans: they've now won four in a row.
One reason for the win was Carroll's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Aiden Ben-David and Eloy Rodriguez, who racked up four sacks between them. Ben-David is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Ray's side was Koby Soliz, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.
Corpus Christi Moody's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Carroll, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Things could have been worse for Corpus Christi Moody, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-21 loss to Carroll in their previous meeting back in November of 2024.
