The Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors are ranked highly in their home state, and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Dynamic Prep. Mt. Zion Prep Academy suffered a tough 64-41 defeat at the hands of Dynamic Prep. Mt. Zion Prep Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Dynamic Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Toombs, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Toombs has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine O'Neal Jr., who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Dynamic Prep, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fairfax Christian at 7:00 p.m. Dynamic Prep on the road again on Tuesday and play against Millwood at 3:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
