The Fife Trojans will face off against the Franklin Pierce Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fife comes in on five and Franklin Pierce on four.
Fife proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Orting 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since March 14th.

04/17/25 @ Steilacoom | 12 |
Frankie Wolfrom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ashlynn Monroe was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mallory Robson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Fife hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Franklin Pierce got the win against Steilacoom on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kiley Sledge made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sledge was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Savanna Fomai, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. Laneigha Garcia was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.
Franklin Pierce pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Fife, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fife has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Franklin Pierce struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Fife suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Franklin Pierce in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
