The Wilson Lakemen will head out on the road to challenge the Alden Bulldogs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Wilson sitting on three straight wins and Alden on nine.
On Monday, Wilson needed a bit of extra time to put away Albion. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Purple Eagles, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lakemen have posted since May 23, 2024.
Riley Robinson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucy Madan, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abbie Faery, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Alden made easy work of Tonawanda on Monday and carried off a 19-3 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Lilly Bromstead was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Bromstead was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Jankowski was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Sawyer Faso was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Alden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .415 or higher in six consecutive games.
Alden pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8 runs thus far. As for Wilson, their record is now 7-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wilson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Alden struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
