After a string of four wins, the Lipscomb Academy Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 70-59 to Cane Ridge. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cane Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adam Clark, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Da'ron Hall, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Lipscomb Academy bumped their record down to 8-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cane Ridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lipscomb Academy will take on Ensworth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cane Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Overton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Overton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matchups -- so hopefully Cane Ridge likes a good challenge.
