It was a good run, but the Johnson Pumas unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 62-49 to Hansberry. Johnson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hansberry apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Al Brooks jr was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 19 rebounds for Hansberry. The matchup was Brooks jr's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Ikee Brooks was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 24 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists.
Johnson's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Hansberry, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnson will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Butler at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. As for Hansberry, they will challenge Comer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
