It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Georgetown G-Men ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They snuck past Clermont Northeastern with a 57-51 victory. This was payback for Georgetown, who suffered a 66-50 loss the last time these two teams met.
Georgetown can attribute much of their success to Emily Bertram, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Ernst, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Georgetown now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Clermont Northeastern, they bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Georgetown is on the road again on Monday and play against Blanchester at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will play host again and welcome East Clinton, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
