On Saturday, Heritage had just enough and edged Richland out 50-47. Given Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 125th in Colorado, while Richland is ranked 1437th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Atticus Schroeder was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 13 points. Logan Hause was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
The win got Heritage back to even at 2-2. As for Richland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Heritage will be playing in front of their home fans against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Eaglecrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Richland is on the road again on December 11th and play against Granbury at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. Granbury is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
