If the South Paulding Spartans were feeling good off their 58-37 takedown of the Newnan Cougars last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. South Paulding took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alexander. South Paulding found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 14 fewer assists than your opponent.
South Paulding's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chalyse Brown, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds, and Chloe Vandyke who scored 17 points along with four steals. Vandyke continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played.
Alexander found their leader in underclassman Nimah Ibidunni, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Ibidunni has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Elon Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
South Paulding's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-16. As for Alexander, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
South Paulding does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alexander also has no future games currently scheduled.
