The El Paso Tigers's game two weeks ago was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Andress and snuck past 35-33. For El Paso, this counts as revenge for the 54-17 loss Andress walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Amaris Ambriz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Thomas, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and five blocks.
El Paso's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Andress, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
El Paso will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. As for Andress, they will head out on the road to face off against Canutillo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canutillo's defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Andress' offense will have their work cut out for Andress.
