Jefferson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was T Nutter out in front who posted eight points in addition to 22 rebounds and four blocks. Nutter has been hot, having posted 14 or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Sylvester, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 15 points.
Meanwhile, Fort Lupton got the win against Arrupe Jesuit on Tuesday by a conclusive 47-26. The Bluedevils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Fort Lupton's win came from a few key players Jefferson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maddie Beverly, who earned 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the most boards she has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Marely Gomez, who scored ten points in addition to eight assists and seven steals.
Fort Lupton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.
Jefferson's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 50% in those games and 28.8% outside of them. As for Fort Lupton, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Jefferson just can't miss this season, having made 48.1% of their field goals per game. It's a different story for Fort Lupton, though, as they've only made 29.9% of their shots this season. Given Jefferson's sizable advantage in that area, Fort Lupton will need to find a way to close that gap.
Jefferson strolled past Fort Lupton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 46-31. Does Jefferson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Lupton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
