Josilyn Hedges and Reese Besco were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Hedges pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Besco pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Hedges scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Besco scored a run while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Hedges snagged this season.
In other batting news, Kori Hoplite was a standout: she scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Rylee North, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
Berne Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
