The Jefferson Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Colton Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jefferson has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Colton will arrive with four straight victories.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for Jefferson, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Portland Adventist Academy.
Meanwhile, Colton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 67-57 win over Monroe. Given Colton's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Monroe is ranked 242nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Colton, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Jefferson against Colton when the teams last played back in December of 2019 as the team secured a 83-51 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
