Mt. Whitney extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-10. They lost 17-8 to the Lemoore Tigers. The Pioneers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Faith Garcia was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nicole Robles, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
As for Lemoore, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
On Lemoore's side, Sikaya Cancio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Cancio was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jazlyn Guzman was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Jaylee Vazquez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.
Coincidentally, Mt. Whitney and Lemoore will both be playing Atascadero the next time they take the field. The Pioneers will head out to face the Greyhounds at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
