Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 20 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Desert Christian Eagles proved on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Patagonia 64-16 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-8.
Desert Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Dobbins led the charge by scoring 19 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dobbins has scored at least 25% of Desert Christian's points. Bennett Vondrak was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 16 rebounds and 8 assists.
Desert Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Patagonia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Christian will take on Duncan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Duncan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Desert Christian is ranked 39th). Patagonia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Manuel at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. San Manuel has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
