Isle of Wight Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Greenbrier Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Greenbrier Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Ashe, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Ashe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Jackson Burris was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Isle of Wight Academy bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Isle of Wight Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Broadwater Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Broadwater Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they will square off against Gateway Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Gateway Christian is ranked 300th, while Greenbrier Christian Academy is ranked 283rd).
