It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hamilton had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Higley Knights with a sharp 10-1 win. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Boston Kellner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk). Kellner was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nico Linville, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Ball, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Hamilton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.
