Warsaw hasn't had much luck against Northridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tigers will welcome the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Warsaw has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Warsaw is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They came up short against NorthWood, falling 12-2. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Bayleigh Sleeth was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Meanwhile, Northridge made easy work of Concord on Tuesday and carried off a 15-2 victory. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.
Addi Knisley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rachel Humbarger, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Rielyn Goodwin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Northridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Northridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Warsaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Warsaw hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Northridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Warsaw might still be hurting after the 14-8 loss they got from Northridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
