In what's become a running theme this season, the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Seminole Ridge with a sharp 75-49 victory. Given Royal Palm Beach's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Seminole Ridge is ranked 689th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jayden Coney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Edward Wood, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Seminole Ridge's loss came despite strong showings from Paul Robinson and Alejandro Alava. Robinson scored 13 points along with two steals, while Alava scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alava has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Calvin Warren, who scored ten points.
Royal Palm Beach has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Seminole Ridge, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Royal Palm Beach will take on Palm Beach Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seminole Ridge won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Palm Beach Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th.
