The Clarkson/Leigh Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clarkson/Leigh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Clarkson/Leigh's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakland-Craig.
Despite their loss, Clarkson/Leigh saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Conner Jurgensen, who scored 7 points, was perhaps the best of all. Trey Steffensmeier was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, even though Omaha Nation scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, Bancroft-Rosalie still came out on top. Bancroft-Rosalie walked away with a 71-63 win over Omaha Nation. The victory was just what Bancroft-Rosalie needed coming off of a 70-47 defeat in their prior match.
Madison's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Clarkson/Leigh's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
Clarkson/Leigh couldn't quite finish off Bancroft-Rosalie in their previous meeting back in February and fell 61-59. Can Clarkson/Leigh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
